A Khulna court on Thursday sentenced three men to death for killing an employee of a Fishery Hatchery named Shree Agro Limited in Dakope of the district in 2015.

The condemned convicts are Bibek Mandal, Saugata Ray and Arunabh Ray. All of them remained fugitive.

Saifuzzaman Hero, judge of Khulna Public Safety Disturbance Crime Prevention Tribunal, handed down the verdict this noon.

According to case statement, the convicts killed Govinda Sana, 40, son of late Dhananjay Sana, hailing from Baruikhali village in Pankhali union of the upazila, and threw his body into the Dhaki River on November 19, 2015.

Govinda’s body was found floating in the morning on November 22 at the char of Jaliakhali river.

Later, the victim’s younger brother Krishnapad Sana lodged a case against the convicts with a police station.
